Sweet.

I’ve got a 1000yd+ range and now I’ve got the rifle and scope to utilize it. I shot a 5” group at 800yds with my Kimber Montana, I’m hoping to shave a couple inches off that.

Be interesting to see how a $14000 rig does against a $1400 rig. I guess the $14000 rig wins in weight.

No not at all. Thought you were comparing your lambourgini to my Mazda. Curious what the extra $12600 buys ýou other then a really nice case. I really do hope that you get 1/2 moa out of it or better

Test target is sub half inch using Nosler factory ammo, not even the load developed by Gunwerks.

Why are you worried so much about how much my rifle costs? I’ve had plenty of rifles that shoot better than the target you posted, and they probably cost somewhere in the same neighborhood as your rifle. Now if I want to sell my new rifle I can buy 10 more just like yours. Chances are I probably won’t though.

Well what I think is this thread is about you bragging but now some how you've turned it to me? Like i said it is a fine rifle and I hope it meets and exceeds your expectations. You're always going on about light weight. Is yours light weight? Don't appear to be if my run of the mill Browning is lighter. Will it shoot better? Hopefully but maybe not. As you said there's lots of guns that'll outshoot my Browning. Maybe just possibly you're a better shot? I have found in my experience is that the more expensive the gun won't make me shoot any better but a good long pull on a dumarier silver regular sure helps.

What is it with you? Go pout on some other thread, maybe go on the sheep gun thread and show off the pics of your $1400 lightweight rig, follow it up with a picture of some meat wrap and a lighter, then brag about being a smoker who can shoot sheep out your truck window with your lightweight browning.

You’re dam right I’m proud of this rifle, it’s taken me years to work my way up to owning one of these.

600yds doesn’t even get the legs stretched out, post up some picks at 1000yds.

Nothing is with me. If the gun works for you fill your boots but ya I'll stretch it 1000. Factory ammo? Hope a pail lid or meat wrapping paper is good enough. I haven't got to reloading for it yet.

No reason not to be proud of it. What're you talking of sheep out the window? Posted the gun I went sheep hunting with. Thought it would be right up you're alley. Short action and light weight.

Who's pouting big boy?

After looking at the fit and finish, and the the fact it shoots sub half inch with factory ammo, the gun already works for me. Having access to sub 1/2 load data that’s already developed for this rifle will mean I don’t have to work up a load, I just have to load up some bullets and head to the range. Once I decide which of the bullets I want to use, they have data for 3 or 4 different bullets, I’ll have my turret burnt, maybe have them burn a couple if I decide to have a heavy and a light bullet, then I’ll be set for elevation out to 1400yds+. It’s not just a fine rifle with a nice case, it’s a system complete with load data that I bought.

There’s nothing wrong with a Browning hell’s canyon I imagine, but it really is like comparing a Miata to a Lamborghini.

Wow nice!
That elevation turret on that scope is massive! So is the eyepiece.
I can't imagine how nice that is to look through.

Deer Hunter;

I had a harder time picking what scope I wanted than I did the configuration of the rifle. After hours or research I had it narrowed down to 3 but once I was able to look through them in person the choice was easy. That top turret is huge, it looked so big in pictures that I had doubts I would get it. After seeing it mounted on the rifle in real life it didn’t look as big but it’s got 116 moa of vertical adjustment with a revolution counter on the turret so you don’t lose tract while you’re dialing. Looking outside with it right now and the glass is amazing, it’s unbelievable the detail you can make out in the trees in the dark.

Kurt that thing has a twilight factor of 30 which is way up there bud,if you get a moose in the last 5 minutes of shooting light with a dark back ground this is the deal you want, the hd5 has a twilight factor of 20,so this X5i is incredible for just a 50 mm scope.I came close to grabbing one,but I went with the zeiss ht which has 27or 28 twilight factor ,but 56 mm and no side focus.I had 3 Z6's and sold them all and in one way regret not going with the Swarovski X5i.I think The top end hensoldt gets maybe 31 or32 if that,i will check that out for sure.I would never buy another Z6,but sure as heck am really interested in this scope.

I don't know every scope spec out there ,to many, there maybe something in SB,but it's hard to find something more clear with light gathering power than this X5i

I did not know that JD, I just know Swarovski has good glass. To be honest I was most interested in the turret and the eyebox. The eye relief on this scope is excellent, that’ll come in handy while still hunting.

Another really nice feature of this rifle is I can disassemble the bolt without tools in under 2 seconds, could come in real handy in the field if a guy has a freeze up or something.

You can put that scope up in a real hurry and if your eye isn't exactly the proper distance ,this thing has such good eye relief that your right there either way,in a fast hunting situations this is great to have.

I have a browning xbolt in 7mm rem mag and it shots 160 accubonds very well,i bought a new sauer 202 and hardly ever used it and when I got this xbolt it shot way better and the sauer went out the door, plus I have no brake on the xbolt and I don't shoot hole for hole, but very decent groups ,so I was thinking of putting a Holland brake on it and it may shoot even better.

I do think that carbon fiber barrels are going to be more popular as time goes on,i had a new 300 win classic in Christensen ARMS and that sucker shot 180 accubonds like I was shooting a 243,plus seriously accurate .

It was my Christensen Ridgeline that got me interested in the ClymR in the first place. My CA Ridgeline 280ai can shoot 1/2” moa or awful close using factory Nosler 140gr accubonds. I agree with you on carbon barrels, they are the next step in firearm technology imo.

Every order that comes in ,is just flyin of the shelf,so something is up in the carbon fiber or fibre world. And yes the CA classic was one heck of a shooter.Infact the best I seen yet,but that's just me.If it was in 7mm rem I would have kept it.

There was a rifle that came out in 2016 shot show called the rogue model 15,which is now the CA classic clone. When you start looking at sako's with crappy stocks the Christensen arms ridgeline is in my opion is a away better buy, plus they do hold the value in carbon barrels.
