Default Yesterdays project

Decided to convert my 22-250 to .308, here are a few pics.

Turning down a blank.

[IMG][/IMG]

Chopping down to 22'' from 26", bet you can't do this with a hack-saw!

[IMG][/IMG]

Cut-off before crowning

[IMG][/IMG]

Piloted crowning tool

[IMG][/IMG]

Finished crown before final polishing to 600

[IMG][/IMG]

Threading muzzle for a brake

[IMG][/IMG]

Brake installed, Never polished the seam, I like the seam.

[IMG][/IMG]

I hate stamps, but had no choice since I was Cerakoting the gun and I don't have a fancy $50K mill to properly engrave.

[IMG][/IMG]

Just sitting in the factory stock for now (Devcon Bedded), went with a mixture of forest green and Tungsten Cerakote for a metallic green color.

You looking for work? Doubt you'll have any trouble finding it!
That stuff looks top shelf. Can't wait to see some pics of grouping from those babies.

You are to gunsmithing, as Omega50 is to cooking. Translation. The BEST.

Dang, I love your threads.

I been spending more time building guns than actually shooting. These guns will outshoot me, I get bored fast shooting paper, will hopefully get to the range this week.

Need a few more years out of my day job, then yes, will be looking for work.

Thanks, but wouldn't dream of calling myself a smith, that's for sure.

Very nice work. I'm a fine woodworker with my own shop and I appreciate good, accurate work like this. Building guns looks to have a lot of appeal. Especially when they are your own and you can go and shoot them to see your work in Action. Fantastic job. Is the lathe your own, or was this done at work?
