well....that might work for you and i....but there are some guys out there that arent capable of humping some of those areas on foot. i think the way it is now provides something for everyone. id hate to exclude some of the less physically capable hunters from the opportunity.

Every time we tried to walk we had trucks drive by. One idiot circled around the bushes we were walking numerous times. Always in front of us. Where would I shoot with this yahoo driving around? We were hard pressed to find a patch of brush that didn't have tire tracks around it.

There are tons of roads in there all you got to do is open the roads and people could drive them and step out there door and sit the trail 50 yards off the road. It would make for slot less vehicle activity. But I see where your coming from Dale.

Well at about 11 today we decided to pull out for a few days no elk shot and they seem to be content with staying put in the closed area of the annex.
Saw a few more moose and a few mulies.
In the 4 days we were there for the elk hunt so far we saw about 25 mulies,
2 whitetails, 16 moose and 0 elk outside the closed area.
We'll probably head back if it snows on Tuesday..
My wife an I figure a day hunting is a great day, so we had a great 4 days .
Good Luck everyone....
As of 11 AM zero elk taken.....this year.

Good luck on the bull moose! All the big guys are alive and being seen daily by the deer hunters.
