Mine are 13 1/2 long 5 1/4 wide and 6 1/2 tall outside dimensions 3/8 inch plywood. I put piano hinge on the top so it flips open.
Also I found putting the entry hole 2 inches high definitely made a difference in more catches.

Default Poor mans weasel box

A 2L milk carton makes an excellent weasel box with a Victor rat trap. Don't use orange juice carton as critters like the smell, or something, left by the juice and they will chew the box up.

2" hole? That is what I have on mine but I didn't catch many before I had my line. They are easy to catch in my marten sets for some reason

you can make a real nice weasel box out of a 1 by 6 by 5 ft long cedar fence board. most lumber yards carry them. one box per board. cedar doesn't rot as fast.

the milk cartons are great aswell, maybe even better. got that idea from you, tomcat.

one of my alltime fav weasel photos from a few years ago.

back to skinning rats.....

Basically yes. Here in BC regs specify 4.5 cm wide and 5 cm high maximum. I have generally used weasel boxes at the base of tree below marten sets to try and get them before they get to the marten box.

I baited my weasel boxes with beaver and I used a marten lure. Cause the weasel love the martin boxes for some reason.

Default weasel

I do not want to derail, but more important is how to keep weasels out of marten boxes. We find they eat to much of our bait then nothing left to attract marten. Them and there squirrel brothers.

I put pans on my traps this year and although your asking to not catch them I think catching them was a good thing. With the pans not many got through my traps. Once they were taken out the trap was at least free for a while for the marten to come. If you feed the weasel he will just keep stealing your bait all winter.

My other plan was to build weasel boxes all summer and have a weasel box at my marten sets. Milk carton seems like an easy way to go. Too bad a rat trap costs more than what a weasel is worth lol Anyone know of a cheap place to get a bulk order of rat traps with pans on them?

Wish I had 1.5 longsprings but all I got is #1's. I have 11 #3 longsprings though. I actually think they would work pretty good in the huts. They would get caught high and drown real quick. Not sure yet if I want to keep them or not. I got about 70 #1's all rigged so I am not that much need of them really.
How much do you want for the rat traps? I thought you had them sold?

Got some 120's and 110'sI could trade you. They are no good to me as they are not certified for marten. They would make a good trap for a float
