Default Cronic waste disease postive

Hi all just wondering if we could start a thread for positive cwd in wmu format throughout Alberta. I'm making my own map of postive cases so I can plan my hunting the next few years. Seems that Alberta govt doesn't really give a detailed area so any help is appreciated. Thanks

I had a positive result this past year, and in speaking to the biologist she mentioned the Red Deer River drainage as a high result area. Avoid eastern WMU's if you want to stay clear of it, otherwise its a toss up if you'll have a positive result or not. Remember to freeze your meat and not process until results are back if you submit a head.
Best of luck.

There is a map published every year with additional positive cases, basically any WMU east of HWY 21 running from Hwy 16 to US border is at risk.

Google : cwd Alberta map

I also heard they are already in BC as well. I guess they'll start asking for samples.

Default Cwd

According to the Alberta Government chronic wasting disease was found in whitetail deer and elk on game farms north of Edmonton in 2002.
