Default 250gr PT in .340

Just got some partitions and was wondering if anyone has used them in the .340 and what loads they have used.

Default 340 Loads

I've only used 250 Grand Slams and Interlocks in mine.

If you find something good when you test your new loads let me know....Thanks

I also have some 250gr Hornady. What load have you used for them?

86 grains of Reloader 22 and Federal 215 primers. It ain't the hottest load but it's accurate. Chrony is 2850 ft/sec

What type of gun is your 340?

Weatherby brass and 250 grain Partitions or Grand Slams with 86 grains of IMR 7828, a magnum cap and you are in good shape. This caliber can be finicky, but this load usually works, it is safe, and documented. Nosler's most accurate 250 grain load. Accurate in Ken Water's Pet Loads, and a few others. IMR 7828 is one of the coolest burning powders around. With the consumption of the big Weatherby, your barrel will thank you.

Good luck.
