Is the first one the fabled .375 RCM Alaskan?

Targets
Tried 5 different bullets and weights before I found what the Mini liked ....and the .375 (disregard the shots out side the shoot N see...initial sighters) just seems to group whatever you put down the tube !!! These are 6 shot groups, fired 2 volleys of 3 for each....and that's supposed to be 82 grains of H4350 not 42(oops)

Glockster....No this is the .375 Ruger which the shorter RCM (.300RCM &.338RCM) are based upon.

Now you just need some real bullets for that little .375. I like the 380g Rhino.
285g Speer Grand Slam on the left, 300g TSX in the middle, 380g Rhino right:
Here is a pic of one next to a 44 mag cartridge:
405g 45-70 left, middle 300g TSX, 380g Rhino on the right:

Uhmmmmm...Yeah, I'm just getting comfortable to this .375 first before I stuff any of those bad boys down the tube !!! Thinking I'll probably load some of the 300gr Barnes up to try........she's still pretty stout with the 270gr stuff. Got a bunch loaded up now with 84grains of H4350...crunch !!

Did you get a replacement stock for the Hogue? I hear that they are recalled and are shipping replacements at no cost...

How long did you have the Alaskan on order and what dealer finally got it for you?

As luck would have it ...I had just walked into Wholesale and saw one of the guys putting the new Mini 14 Target on the shelf. I asked to see it and while putting a deposit on it, happened to mention I was hoping to see an Alaskan when they came in. Noel said that he thought there were a couple that came in the same time as the Mini. Upon checking he found that there were two African models and only the one Alaskan........So , I ended up with 2 Rugers instead of just one !!!! And to think I had only gone in to pick up some powder and primers !!!!

Nice rifles. I especially like the Alaskan. I'd be falling over myself to get one of those if they came Left-handed. Best factory rifle/design in a long time IMO.

mini !4
oops ! for some unknown reason I missed that target on the left hand side...most impresive, you must be pleased with the rifle and your shooting........a lot of people on some of the other forums have been saying that the Minis do not shoot very well...I guess you would have other ideas on that one!!!

This is my third Mini 14....last 2, best groups I EVER got out of them was
1-1/2" to 2" ....so they did not stay on the rack long. I was very happy when the Target model held up to it's name !!!

Stopping power is the name of the game............Dangerous Game that is.
Be it African Cape Buffalo (Black Death) or Kodiaks, Moose....that is what cartridges such as this were designed for....not so much Velocity but LOTS of ENERGY!!
