Default Proper Nocking Point

My friend noticed that his on his bow that his nock was too high and that the arrow was pointing down (a little) when he had an arrow in his whisker bisquit. THe question that he has is that if he doesn't make adjustments what are the negatives that are occuring?? (ie loss of accuracy, speed, stabilization or whatever) He is shooting well and the season is 10 days away so he is not sure about making the changes.

I said that I thought that the arrow should be level at rest and that it must be for a reason, but I do not know enough to tell him why. But I told him that I know people who can.

As well his sights even though they are sighted in to 60 yards are nearly maxed out downwards for adjustments.

Thanks
