Default Mint Cooey 600 quality

I'm still deciding on a new .22. How would you folks rate the quality of a mint 1965 Cooey 600 compared to a modern CZ455, Marlin, or Savage bolt-action repeater?

Many thanks,
Albertacowboy

I have the same Cooey 600 that my dad bought many many years ago when he was 14. I wanted something "newer" and bought a new Savage bolt-action, the Cooey outshot it. Either I got a killer Cooey, or a lemon Savage, but either way. I'm pretty dam happy with my Cooey, and the Savage is long gone. And it's not even close to mint!

I can't answer your question. However I can report that my early 1970s Cooey 600 was a very consistent and reliable shooter. It's a bit worn now and has trouble ejecting and feeding.

You can always buy a new .22. You may never again find a mint 600.

So did I get the short end of the stick by letting my brother take the mint Cooey 600 while I kept the mint CIL 125 by Anschutz?

The CIL 125 w the Anschutz action/trigger is a superb rifle, better than the Cooey 600.
