I think Bears should be banned from the bush.
See how badly that trail is worn ?
Sight degradation !
Erosion problems !

Smart move would have been for the hikers to get off the trail, bear was going somewhere, not looking for trouble.

Grizzlies are great to watch.
I once drove up to a reclaimed wellsite, where I was 3 or 4 m above the site itself; the wind was toward me and the sun was at my back. A big old silvertip was digging clover and enjoying himself immensely, and I got to watch him from about 40 or 50 m away for a good 15 or 20 minutes until he ambled off into the timber. He never knew I was there, but he put a smile on my face for the rest of the day.
