Can see/cast some new rods, learn to tie a fly. Take some courses on casting, fishing, learning about bugs. Learn about some lodges/destinations to check out.
You want to fish....Bow is open and fish are eating all winter.

The Fly Expo is, for me, a bit like the Boat and Sportsman's Show. Always look forward to it, always go, and always feel vaguely disappointed with the show afterwards. However, I always go again the following year.

This year my wife will be away for the weekend so I won't have to sneak any purchases into the house! I can walk in with them like a man! LOL

I go every year, its fun to catch up with all the people and see new products and so on. Our winters are long and the Bow can only fix so much.

Check out some of the vendors. I know Frontier Fishing Lodge will be there. Great fishing in the NWT for a price anyone can afford.

Much like any other show of that ilk. Be it a gun or boat or whatever show, it's great for someone that finds what they were looking for, not so for those who don't. I may or may not be looking for something, might find it, might not, or , I may come away with an idea I'd like to pursue, or acquire info on items I may have a use for later on, and then having seen it, know what to try, or do about it when the need arises. Got deals, got trips, got ideas at that show, it is always worth a look.

Worth it every year? Probably not. But nice to see some old friends once every few years. If you haven't been to it then by all means worth it once.
