Considering this thread is 4 years old, the OP probably has come up with a decision by now.

It was resurrected by a spammer who's post has already been removed.

Or drank bad water and… lol.

For a day hike, I wouldn’t consider bringing filters and other ish. Just grab some good water with you and enjoy the day.
