Default Trimming lylacs in fall

Can i do some trimmimg of new growth now?I did a big chop this spring new growth is covered in PM, rather then fight it can i just cut it off now with frost coming in the next few weeks.

Yeah, they're pretty hardy. You probably will lose some flowering next spring by pruning them this late, but that's a temporary problem.

There half under a covered patio,I trim the patio side ea year so i dont get flowers.They would grow into the roof if i didnt.
I uderstand the PM can live dorment under the snow.So ill trim this weekend.
