Default new 30.06 nice gun!

well the registation was good to go monday morning, so i took of work around 2 and got shooting. It took me around 10 or so shots to get a feel for it, cleaning every shot. Then the next 10 or so i had the scope real close at 100yards if i did my part right. I still cleaned every 2 shots till 20. Around 23 i think i was getting good groups even standing at 100 yards. I learned to let the gun do the work and it did just that. Overall i'm happy with my choice in the remington 700 cdl 30.06 and the scope 4x16x40 bushnell 4500 is nice also. I was surprised with the recoil but got used to it fast. Thanks guys and gals for the advice. Now to fill some tags. Moose is up to bat first. 180 grain nosler partitions should do the trick.

Congrats on the new remington. CDL's are pretty slick looking rifles IMHO

Default curious

im just curious why you clean it out ever shot? I just got my new rifle and i cleaned it when I got it and after the first 5 rounds. Will this really effect my round placement or just to break in a new gun? I shot it again this weekend and was getting " 3/4" groups at 100 yards....Im no sharp shooter, but i thought this was sufficient. Am I doing something wrong? p.s it a remington 700 mountain lss in 30-06, with leupold 4.5X14X40 b&c VX-lll
