Default What is your go to colour for ice fishing by species?

Mine is chartreuse and orange for perch
Black for rainbows brooks and browns
White for lake trout
Yellow for lake whitefish
Red and white for pike
Olive green for walleye

I like white and pink for everything. If that doesn’t work then I start switching to chartreuse as a backup.

Hard to beat chartreuse, and if it's a lure rather than a jig,a bit of orange with the chartreuse is never a bad thing either

So much depends on the time of day and the clarity of the water body that you're on. Tough to have a go to for species, if you fish a number of different lakes.

I find that all trout are picky just like women so its always a gold jig head. All others a glow in the dark chartreuse or black if the water is really clear.
