Default CPAP and camping without ac power

I tried to skim through all the other CPAP threads and couldn't find an answer
that I wanted
Has anyone successfully used a CPAP using dc batteries?
I have 2 GC-2 6 volt golf cart batteries and a 100 watt solar charger.
I could use the converter in the trailer or use a separate converter only for the CPAP which might be more energy efficient.
Any experience on how long the batteries would last?
Would the 100 watt solar charger be able to recharge the batteries daily if the sun was out a reasonable amount of time?
Just curious if anyone has done this, before I do a real life test?
Anybody have any other suggestions?

thanks in advance

Most machines have a battery pack option, check that out.

Almost every device is going to be DC power including your CPAC. That's why it has an AC to DC power supply brick.

I've done it. Lots of explanations by type on how to do it out there. Requires some basic skills to make up a cable.

I use a deep cycle battery to power my Panasonic. I had to add some resisters to fool it.

Yes it will work just fine.

I bought a "solar generator" from Amazon and it works fine. It is about the size of a toaster if it had a slot for only 1 slice. It lasts for 3 nights even using the humidifier on the CPAP. It will recharge in one day with just a couple hours of sunshine (I leave it out even with the clouds as it still charges) with a 40 watt solar panel. If you are just topping it up every day, even cloudy days should do fine.

The only problem you may have is hooking it up. Get some advice from a pro at any solar panel shop. You don't want to fry your CPAP by having the wrong polarity.

I replace the coverter with an inverter/smart charger on my motorhome two golf cart batteries and It worked great for my cpap. Only thing is I used an on board Genni to charge them when no power was avalible.

I have a DeVilbiss CPAP I bought for traveling and camping runs on 120v or 12v comes with a 12v light socket plug will run 2 nights on a group 27 deep cycle battery without the humidifier it only runs on 120v.
Before that I plugged my Resmed S9 into a 120v converter never had a problem

thanks for your replies all
I have the Resmed S9 as well and technically I have a "solar generator" as well,
the 2 GC-2 batteries, the 100 watt solar panel and the converter that is built in the trailer
I will have to do a real life test and see if the solar panel/batteries can keep up to the demand of using the CPAP nightly

thanks for your input so far, if anyone else wants to chime in with their experiences, I'd be happy to listen

I just turn off the humidity. I then run it on a Eliminator 1200 volt battery pack. It will run the fan on my CPAP for 6-7 days without a re-charge.

I run my s9 on group 24 deep cycle. It worked well for 4 days with no battery charging without the humidifier and heater. In the fall for our week long hunting trip I had it hooked up to a 40 watt solar panel, but still had to charge it on the genny once.

I should also mention I use the resumes 12v adapter. Bought it from cpap.ca. it has battery clamps or 12v plug with on off switch.

What did the adapter cost? I use the S9 with a 500 watt inverter and a deep cycle 12v marine battery. It lasts about 2.5 nights and then has to be recharged ( I tried it at home first). Maybe I could get a bit longer if I just had an adapter and not waist so much on the inverter also.

The problem with resmed S9 is that it operates on a higher voltage not 12V that why I went with a Devillibis unit that runs on 12 volts for use without a converter.

The resmed 12 volt adapter is expensive $195

I run my CPAP on the camper battery's , no problem. I cut the wires between the 120v/12v power transformer and the CPAP, and added a 2 wire trailer plug on each end, and on a 12 V wire from the battery's in the camper , and on a cig plug . Now I just plug in either to the wall 120 converter , a 12v cig outlet, or the permanent wires I ran beside the bunk for it. If your wall plug adapter is 12 volt output, you are laughing to the tune of about 10 bucks to make it a versatile power user. Just make sure your machine is 12v DC .
The camper has 3 x 12v battery's in it , I have never run out of power at night. Normally I start the truck daily for a few minutes to recharge the battery's from using the other 12v things I use like lights, radio , chargers etc. and the 12 to 120 converter for charging laptops. . 5 min of 16volts/140amps from the alternator tops up everything faster and cheaper than the generator ever will.https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/r...8203p.html#srp

Just curious what size, how many watt converter you used?
I have a 300 watt handy, I'm thinking that should work??
And in real life experience how many nights did you get from a battery using your converter? how did you recharge your batteries?
thanks
