Arrow SASK HUNTER 2011 Antler Elk Priority 8 Hunter Host

I want to hunt elk, but i no longer have a hunter host(Albertan) to enter into draws with.

I would like to hunt ya ha tinda, or any place with quality animals.

I have a priority of 8 in 2011 for Antlered Elk.
I am from Saskatchewan.

Can anyone help me out.

Yikes!!! You may have a problem. I believe you go on the priority of the HH when you apply for draws,

Yep in a group application the lowest priority sets the priority point level you apply at as a group. That being said if you don't draw you gain an extra point and don't lose any of the points you have already accumulated - unless successful in the draw of course. Side note - draw applications close on Monday June 25.

And even if you find a P8 to enter with, you will still need a hunter host to hunt with if you are drawn.

Do I need the Hunter Host before the draw or before we hunt?

Worse case I enter with a person with zero priority???

Thank goodness you are only hunting elk. If it were mule deer people would be all over you for using up a resident license Good luck on finding your hunter host. Wish we could swap so I could come shoot a big mule deer over there.

Depends on if you plan to hunt on that tag this year or just up your priority for futures.
Put in with a P zero if it's just for future years.
But if it is a year you hope for the draw to come, finding another P8, well, you could have an issue.
The WIn # (AB Res) you apply in the draw with does not have to be the same Res that hosts you, if that matters.

All you need to do is find someone who is willing to 999 with you this year.....if they add you on it doesnt matter what their priority is. Just have them add you to a 999 and you'll build your priority.

However, looking forward, your challenge will be finding someone with the same priority as you or a high number at least that is applying for the same zone that you want to hunt and a host that will hunt with you when you draw...

Default Need Trophy

Well I am entered in with a person with zero priority so I at least will gain a year of priority.

If you know someone who has a similar or lower priority than a 10 for next year, Who would draw with me in a good zone. I have no-one who has any priority and don't want to have a priority of 18 to get drawn.

If I could get in a draw with an Albertan I believe I could find another host to take me. I could hunt with the applicant who saves my day too, if wanted.
I hunt/fish/camp most of the summer and am capable of handling my own in camp.

Help me use this priority next year, Please spread the word

Which zones are the best?? In the Draw statistics page, only a few zones needed a 10 priority to be 100% Are some of these the best trophy elk zones??

Where should I use my priority

Thanks
