Default Another sturgeon post from this weekend

I've been planning on getting out for the last 3 or 4 years now to try my hand at some sturgeon fishing and finally made it out this weekend with my wife and kids. I ended up doing a lot better than I ever could have imagined! It all started when I walked down to the shore with my son to check out the camping spots when a large sturgeon jumped right in front of us! Another fisherman was there and he landed that 47" monster. So before doing anything else I got my line in the water. About 45 minutes later I had my first sturgeon and it was 49"!! Throughout the weekend we caught one at 47" a couple right around the three foot mark and two smaller ones. The highlight was Saturday night though when I caught a 58" hog!! what an incredible fish! My son was just as excited as I was and said "Dad can I eat the fish pwease?" So in the end we got the 7 sturgeon two walleye some suckers a burbot and a goldeye.

Very nice fish. That place has been producing some big fish this year. If you hit the right day you have the place to yourself.

Looks like you guys had an awesome weekend too Wayne. Saw you anchor just up the river there on saturday I think it was. You can see our camp at the beginning of your video (blue tarp). My son was pretty excited to see a couple boats come ripping down the river. Do you know how deep the water was through there?
