Question Sturgeon ??

SO after fishing for sturges this past weekend. Watching dozens rise up to flush there gills. Everyone is using worms and only 1 sturgeon was caught on each day. So that got me thinking WHAT would be better bait then just a worm or two. It seems to me that they are "scavengers" Sooo if thats the case, wouldnt strips of chicken breast left out in the sun and heat from say monday till the following weekends fishing trip be better?? I thought maybe smoked oysters or fresh oysters??? If you dont wanna add to the thread pm me please with me stuff you have tried and trued. I wanna catch my first one and just a worm I feel is not the way to do it.
