Default Draw Quota Idea

Would be interesting to see if Alberta would ever move towards the way Saskatchewan runs their Canadian Residents Whitetail draws where the list the zones as well as the tag quota allocated for that season.

Would love to see that happen with our draws as it would make things more interesting to plan/prepare if a person had an idea when certain zones would have a spike in tags or decrease ect..

Take for example some of our eastern mulie zones with the implication of more and more CWD cases I could foresee large increases in tags in some of the zones. Knowing the quota before hand could help a guy avoid a zone where they typically give out 150 tags before drawing an realizing suddenly its 350 that season.

Curious if anyone knows if this idea has every been brought forth or used in our draw system because surely the bio's have an idea of tag numbers assigned to a certain zone before the month of June.

quotas for things like deer change so infrequently that it's not a problem.

Good idea about future projection, you can always look up the number of tags issued in previous years though and make assumptions of # of draws off that.
