Default Hunter Training course

My daughter has decided she would like to hunt this fall and I'm wondering how long the online course/test is to take? Would she be able to finish it all in time to apply for draws or does it take awhile to complete?

Has changed a lot since I took mine 25 yrs ago...lol

I had to take it a few months ago surprisingly after 25 years of hunting. They had no record that I had taken it....you know when they taught it to you in school. In order for me to hunt in Hawaii this spring, I needed proof of a hunter ed course so I had to take it. They say to allow for eight hours so she could easily get it done but it is going to be right down to the wire. I did it online and it took about 6.5hrs and the test was about an hour

If she can power thru all the sections then its just a matter of time. I took it couple of months ago but I think the course is about 4+ hours all said and done.

best of luck to her.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info

At this point she is leaning towards grouse and geese but if she is done it quick enough she will put in for a MD doe draw tag as well and maybe try for one after she has a few birds under her belt.

Will get her started tonight on the course.

I would give 6-8 hours for the online course
Also it is not easy, you need to take notes and study and there are lots of trick questions
