Default NASP - Nationals in Edmonton.

I'm a little late in posting this, but our son joined NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) in Stettler school this year in Grade 9. I'll just say that we are astounded at how well he has done in the first 7 months of his archery career (1st year ever of archery). So far in tournaments he has won a 1st, a 2nd and two thirds.

He then went to Nationals in Edmonton where he shot his best yet ( 283 ):
- 1st for Grade 9 boys out of 95 boys.
- 2nd for all high school boys out 212 boys.
- 5th overall out of about 1600 kids.
- Stettler school placed 3rd out of about 70 schools.

Now he has his own bow, rather than shooting a school bow, to practice more at home and during the summer months. We are very proud parents and are really looking forward to what the future holds for him.

Were you at the Smoky Lake tournament? You guys have a really good coach, I know a couple kids on the Stettler team.
Edit. I checked the results and got my answer to the Smoky Lake question.

Yes my son was at the Smokey Lake tournament and we are going to Provincials April 29th in Drayton Valley. Yeah our coach is awesome, her daughter, who is on our team, for 2 years in a row made it to the Allstars team and is going to South Africa.

I know, my daughter got to know her last year in Nashville. We will be in Drayton on Friday as well, I'll be on the floor coaching our elementary team and maybe middle school.

Hi guys. This is a great program for the kids and I am trying to get my son involved. I will be volunteering at the Drayton Valley NASP Provincials Thursday and possibly Fri so say hi, it's always nice to meet some fellow AO members.
