Maybe somebody did and saw this train wreck coming so chose to stay of of it, until now.

Our Marten don't live in open hardwood forests, we don't even have open hardwood forests. That should have been the first clue.

The second would be the Siberian Laika dogs.

Not that they aren't used here, but it should make a fella wonder where this is as they are not common here.

So once again AO lives up to it's reputation for eating it's own.

Just another point, if he is Russian, hunting their he would refer to marten as Sable.

Some times languages are hard to cross over to.

I suspect what he means is trapping is easier the hunting them. If so I would agree.

Yes! To find a marten, even with dogs, you have to walk through the forest, usually 3-4 hours, and sometimes more. So if you like walking and adventuring, then this might be an exciting hunt for you. She is very interesting with dogs.

I would imagine most Registered Trapline owners in Canada would probably be boarding a couple dogs , if they caught this guy shooting pine marten on their lines.

I live close to the bush and have a visiting marten and I welcome it as it hunts mice and squirrels.
