Cleveland Indians announce they are getting rid of their Cheif wahoo logo after the upcoming season due to it being deemed inappropriate.
Wahshington redskins are under heat to make changes, as well are the Chicago Blackhawks. What is next?!

Montreal Canadiens

Imagine. Being called a Canadian! How offensive to that fan in Uzbekistan. They feel left out and they are right. How insensitive of Montreal.

They should be called the “All Inclusive Everything’s ”, so no one from any other galaxy is offended either.

But then so should all sports teams........

Perhaps if we all just had a microchip instead of a name, it may alleviate all the stress caused by being named anything

Poor old microchip 432.34 died. He was such a standard subject. He/she/it/undecided will be missed.....

Some may not miss 432.34. I guess that would be offensive to them....

I don't know if I feel comfortable with He/she/it, too many labels. It's non-binary for (deity of your choosings) sake.

They are traditional

So, lets just get rid of “traditional “ things then......like oh lets see.....

If we're going the non-traditional route, I'm thinking maybe some non-traditional forms of transportation. Maybe riding to work in the freshly plowed bike lanes on a unicycle nailed to the back of a feral hog. I think stuff like this is just sensationalism.... people generally have thick skin for the most part, we slag each other pretty hard at work, natives slag the white guys, the asians, persians etc are slagging everyone, good times.

I think sensitivity is just a perception issue, a small minority observes media sensationalism and takes it to heart

In Lethbridge there is a park in the river valley call "Indian Battle Park". I am surprised knowone has petitioned the city to have the name changed yet. I am waiting to hear about it any day now though.

If they want to go down that road there is no going back.

Rename the blackhawks , The braves, the red skins the Eskimos, the Indians
Rename them all and erase any and all images depicting the First Nations people the teams name refers to... no picture of the blackhawk head and so on. Delete them from history. That may not turn out so well....

My First Nation friends(aka my wife and brother in laws and half of my wedding party ,As well as my neighbors)think it’s bull hooey. They take great pride in the Blackhawk symbol for example or the Eskimo name. Great pride. They can’t understand why everyone is such whiners about it all the time.

But I have lost count of all the white people who are absolutely offended and are “standing up” and want things changed on their behalf...

My son plays for the Red Deer Chiefs whose logo is an Indian....ooops, sorry, Indigenous person in full headdress. I wonder how long that will last?

I guess Hollywood will end up changing certain old west phrases in their westerns to; "Circle the wagons, the Indigenous people are on the warpath." That is if they will make any more westerns involving Indigenous people.

Some other every day but, not PC phrases, will have to be changed, such as,

Disclaimer: It is not PC to use the term Indian but, I will be using it in its historical context.

The white man started scalping in North America when a bounty was put on Indians. The Indians picked it up from the white man and Hollywood movies and books reinforced it to make it look like only Indians scalped.
