Default Smith & Wesson Wheel Guns

Instead of hijacking Pilsner's thread, thought I'd start one to appreciate the wheel guns made by Smith &Wesson. I'll start with a pair of "rare" 5" Model 27-2's. Seems odd that there are at least 5 of these in one province (Twisted mentioned he has 3). I know of at least 2 more in B.C. Anyway, here ya' go:

They are the bomb! I just spent the last 4 hours with my daughter taking 800 pictures of everything in my safe, for an appraiser so I can have proper coverage. The idea of taking any out to shoot any more pictures right now is not appealing ...I will have a look on my phone and see what I have there, maybe post a few up. I fell in love with them all over again doing the photo shoot though!

A nickel 19-3 I used to have...*sigh*. And so I went a did a bit of digging came out with the 5" Model 10-5, the 5" Model 27-2, and my very rare pre mod 27 (1954) 5 screw 357 with 5". The last one was way in the bottom and I wasn't digging it out! And no, those are not the proper grips on the 357, I really need to find a set of diamonds for it, so if anybody knows of a pair....? The grips on the 357 belong on the 27-2, but I like shooting the 27-2 better with the Ehrends grips. The 357 came with a set of rubber Hogues that have no business on it.....

Probably the most sought after barrel length on a Model 27 in the USA:

Love the Highway Patrolman! I've had probably six over the years, finally down to one new in box still.

My Model 29-2 I received for my 21st birthday many moons ago. Pictured with a pre-29 that was carried by a prospector in the wilds of B.C. Twisted, notice the diamond grips? Original "Coca Cola" serialed to the gun.

Oh I notice them! Would you notice if they disappeared though? (probably)! I am wanting a set of the diamond magnas for mine, really no luck finding them so far.

Default What about the Dan Wesson .38/357 Model 15-2VH

I had the S&W model .357 but to tell the truth, you cannot beat this Dan Wesson Pistol kit, model 15-2vH in .38/.357. I have 4 interchangable barrels and 4 different grips and always hit target better than anyone (and i’ve Had it for 36 years!)

Sorry if you don’t recognize my monicker, but been away for awhile on old age leave.

Heard of the 53, never seen one. What are you asking for it...?

As for the Dan Wesson, I can honestly say I've never personally handled one. Heard lots of good things about them, but never took a hankering to their style, and was already committed to Colts and Smiths. Would love to see some pics though.

Thanks for posting those Trooper. Is it pretty simple to change barrel out, or is it a pain?
