Default Gun range and pregnant woman

Just went to shoot some pistols at the club with my daughter and they wouldn’t let her in because she was pregnant, airborne lead particles they said, kind of felt stupid that I didn’t know that. She was pretty disappointed. Is this common knowledge to you all.

I have seen it posted at our club, yes. Also, I'm not sure but suspect the concussion isn't really great for a baby in the womb with no hearing protection. Sound (noise) does affect them....probably better to be safe than sorry.

I believe it's more the noise for the baby. Did all my range trips and hunting solo this year while the wife was baking.

Where did you find her? Sounds like glory.

Lead exposure is the reason pregnant women are not advised to shoot and why many ranges will now allow them to. The lead can affect the development of the fetus's brain and central nervous system. I am not sure what the impact of the noise would be but I know that lead is the primary concern.

I've seen that posted at a few ranges. As far as I know, it's lead-related but with the number of muzzle brakes I saw (and experienced ) last time I was at a range, I can't imagine the concussive force would be good for an unborn baby. I sat between two guys and their SVT-40s, with foam ear plugs UNDER my electronic muffs. I had a headache for 2 days after. Haven't been back to a range since, but I didn't go much before that either.
