I don't fly fish, been out there a few times though. Last time was about a month ago. Not a bite, nor rising fish seen.
Everyone i've talked to has never caught anything, but there are stories of big rainbows being caught. I've taken my boat with a fishfinder, it has crazy deep dropoffs, like 30ft deep 15ft from shore. I believe there are big fish in there. But I've heard there are a ton of freshwater shrimp, and they don't really bother with artificial lures of any kind

There is a ton of scuds (fresh water shrip) in almost every lake. People still catch fish. You just need to find the right presentation depth, speed ect. That works. Going once or twice isnt enough time invested into a body of water to rule it out.
