Sage reels

I'm thinking of getting a 3200 series for my 5wt that I'm building.

anybody have some experience with one?

also considering a Hardy Ultralight CC

I have a sage click and a sage 4500 and they are both great reels, can't speak for the 2500 but It should be a great reel.

I would go with the Hardy. I picked up a couple of the Ultrilite DDs and the fit and finish is flawless. I have only used them one summer but so far they are excellent reels.

Sage can be hit and miss. I have a 2050 that works OK but it is a little sloppy now after a couple of years. A guy I know returned a 3800 that locked up when wet. The replacement does the same thing so he just gave up on it and purchased a Loop Opti.

I picked up a nautilus FW in a shop once and I'm not gonna lie I got slightly aroused....

I might have to try it out as well. bring my rod in and see what balances it well

They're nice reels, I own several Sage reels myself, including the 3200, which is a great reel. It will probably be a bit light for a 5wt, but if you can find one it'll likely be a good deal as they've been discontinued for a few years.

Whoops, my bad. That's a new series I was unaware of, a few years ago they discontinued a model 3200 that was a predecessor of the click series in a 3-4wt model. Ignore everything I said before!!

I'd LOVE a click on my 2wt..... but I can't pay $300 for a reel with no drag unless it's a danielsson

I have the old 3200 click and love it. I fish all the old Sage 3000 series reels from the 3200 to the 3600D and have caught everything from trout, steelhead, salmon and tarpon on them and have yet to have a single issue with a Sage reel.
