Looking to research Cooey firearms?

This is mostly about an education on this old Canadian Company. I have some interest in buying a 22 as well.

Did Cooey merge into CIL firearms?

I know there was a Winchester connection, details?

They also rebadged some other manufacturers I think?

Cooey was bought out by Winchester. After Winchester was done with Cooey, what was left became Lakefield Arms and moved to Lakefield from Cobourg. Savage owns Lakefield today. For info get ahold of Keith at Long's Gunsmithing in Bewdley ON. Both he and his Dad were gunsmiths for Cooey.
