Sorry Glen, I'm not an Easterner. Longest I've ever spent there is two weeks this summer.

LOL Glad he could find someone to look down on and feel superior to. A lot of folks feel that way about his province.

Comment from Maxine Bernier today. He claims Quebec's financial position is worse than Greece. Of course, Greece doesn't have Canada to support their unsustainable Life style.

Hey, and here I thought this thread died in March! I figured we'd never see it again after S.A.S was banned, but it looks like glen.d has stepped up to the plate.

Oko, the perception of Newfoundland and Labrador would be far different today had they been given a fair deal in the first place. The money quebec suckles off, could have made N & L a 'have' province years ago.

For once I support Danny Williams, as for once, he has an issue to be justifiably outraged over. If the underwater line does not go through because of quebec's greed, and offshore oil revenues continue to swell, he will do what should have been done decades ago, and turn off the tap in Churchill.

Roadkill...have you joined up yet?

Sounds like something that every province in Canada should have.

Is it just me, but I have never met a Conservative or Republican that I like, maybe its because I went to University to improve my life and subsequently the lives of others.

Maybe it's because you are a limp-wristed, pigeon-toed pansy walking around believing you are a gift from god. You don't know a hammer from a nail, but are offended when the guy who retrieves the contents of your man-purse from the toilet has the temerity to charge you for the service.
Don't feel bad, though. Conservatives don't like you, either.
I guess drydiver never considered the fact that not everyone cares for his help ... or his opinions.

Came accross this, just unbelievable; just a short part of it.

Note that the we the english speaking majority pay 5 times as much for this lunacy?

By John Woods

I am pleased to offer my written submission to the Standing Committee on Finance for your consideration in preparation of Budget 2009, in response to your government's invitation to Canadians to participate by making a recommendation.

My recommendation to substantially cut funding for Official Bilingualism is based on the following information:

Spending on Official Bilingualism.

The Federal cost of Official Bilingualism for one year only to March 31,2008 was $605 Million. (without interest)

The total for one year ending March 31,2008, Federal, Provincial, Municipal and Private Sector was $19 Billion.

The total 40 year cost, 1969 to 2008, for Official Bilingualism for the Federal
Government, Provincial Governments, and Private Sector, $1.15 Trillion !

This is revenue collected (extorted in the name of 'National Unity') from taxpayers. English-speaking taxpayers pay nearly five times as much as the French for this miserable failure called Official Bilingualism. Contrary to popular belief, we are more divided today than ever in our 141 years since Confederation as the Dominion of Canada.

“There is no way that two ethnic groups in one country can be made equal before the law! To say that it is possible is to sow the seeds of destruction!” -- Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, 1966.

But Trudeau did it anyway, and we now reap the destructive harvest.

Hang in there, there's more.... more about the socialization of Canada by Trudeau and Eastern Canadians voters (Ontario&Quebec)who kept on voting the Liberals in?

Erik Nielsen, who was a decorated pilot in the second World War and later deputy prime minister under Brian Mulroney.
In his book said this "The welfare state flourished in the Trudeau years as it had never before, and Canada moved into the ranks of the worlds leading socialist nations. This has resulted in the virtual destruction of the Canadian virtues of independence, self reliance, initiative, resourcfulness, the work ethic and all the attibutes of character that, in my view, make a nation strong.
The seeds of todays monstrous deficits were sown during these years.

It's even worse than you think: we're sending 'workers' to 'work' in your oilsands, but their real purpose is to use their bilingual charms to impregnate your women and create millions of bilingual, gun-hating children. We're going to change Alberta! Growl!
