Default Great advice from Alberta Environment

The rise in water temps combined with being hooked is a trout killer.
Do your part for the fish, leave them alone.

"If you are planning on fishing in the extreme heat, try to not play the fish too much or handle them out of water if possible.
Water temperatures may rise to levels that are stressful to cold-water fish species over the next couple weeks, especially in southern Alberta. Keep an eye out for fishing advisories from Alberta Environment and Parks."

The Crow is getting very very warm.

Late evening fishing may be ok I’m thinkin.
Some beauty hatches of a few waters these days…

Great advice,

If you need a fix, why not check-out some of our beautiful alpine lakes, the cutthroat are usually eager to eat.

I'm a flowing water kind of guy, but when it's hot like this, I get up high. I understand not everyone is able to hike up to these places, but if you are, it's a great way to explore our province

We had to cut our trip short this weekend. We found temps as high as 19C way out west where they should be half that temp around this time.

Not too bad in the morning or after 9pm but mid day the fishing shut right down and the fish got sluggish when we’d get one. Felt like we were doing more harm than good.
