interesting logic ...so you'd hunt an elephant for free(won ), , otherwise no go ? sorry i agree with the others, if it's legal go for it! True there are lots of odd/ exotic / or other animals that i have no desire to hunt, but thats my personal preference!

I hunt sasquatch....not because I hate them, but because my taxidermist didn't do a very good job on the first one I shot.......
I think I will try a different taxidermist next time.

Wow
My friend is planning an elephant hunt next September, and our mutual friends and, my wife, have mixed feeling and opinions’ on his choice to go hunt an elephant. I can understand having these types of conversations/debates with ignorant (meant in the literal way) with non hunter/fisher type people.
But having this conversation on a hunting forum to me is just plain ridiculous I agree with Chet "head to PETA"
I had an opportunity to talk about killing animals with my dental hygienist and good friend. She just started to date a guy who is a hunter; she was asking me about guns, and killing. I shared with her my thoughts
I disagree with people who are cool with eating superstore beef, chicken, fish. and can't stand hunting ONLY certain types of animals because they are big cute, cuddly or like the color of there eyes.
To me killing is killing, I don't think it’s up to us to value a life of an animal more than another. As long as it is taken in a legal, ethical, and fair chase environment. In short the elephant, frog, gopher, fish and deer. Are all equally important, and deserve the utmost respect when hunting.

but , i have an anwser.....i watched a doc on bush meat in africa and people there are hunting chimps and gorillas , etc...thats gross. only because they look like little hairy people. but if my family was going hungry not too much would be safe from me either? conflicted i guess . two sides to every story. what you think is bad someone else thinks is great. ask a east indian what they think about you eating beef!!!

Just becuase its legal doesnt mean its right and just becuase its illegal doesnt mean its wrong.
They change the regs every year becuase of that.
If it was legal to hunt endangered animals would you guys just assume its right???
duh......

I have a buddy in Mississippi that does a lot of deer hunting. An associate of his, brought him to a hunting lodge to visit. On the wall was a giraffe mount. He was quite disturbed about this We both can't figure what that is all about.

The thing is, them gophers ain't nearly so cute to the rancher whose cattle and horses are breakin' their legs in the damned holes; or to the farmer whose crops they eat. They're cute in a city park, but they ain't cute anywhere else.

Any animal in Africa that has the nerve, to insist on a sip of water at their little drinking hole, at the end of a hot day.

My two rules:
1. Must be an animal I'm going to use for something... food, fur, etc. For me, that makes the act part of the cycle of life, natural.
2. Must be reasonable numbers of the game, not endangered. On this front I have to trust the F&W authorities. If they designate a season or allow it, then I guess it's OK.
