Default Mr. Big Back from Taxidermist

We made the drive last night to Red Deer to our favorite award winning taxidermists to pick up Jody's whitetail from last fall. As always his work was immaculate, his service friendly and on time. We will have to get a tape on this this guy now and see how he scores. He is big and wide and even with great mass.

PS. Game on this fall, Jody!

I think its the pose thats throwing you off. The mount looks good, the head down is a bit unusual...to each their own. Nice buck.

The head down mount was intentional as the mount will be put up higher in the house and the view from a lower angle makes it look good. A slightly aggressive look was intended thus the head slightly down and the ears back a bit. My photographs from the higher angle aren't great.

Whatever the taxidermist was trying to do with the pose... He nailed it.

That deer looks alive

Default Nice mount!!

Only 2 things stand in my way of getting a mount like that:

1. Shooting a nice buck
2. The wife letting me hang it in the house.

Trade her in. there are lots of wives out there that wont let there husbans hang deer in the house i say get rid of them and find one that just knows her place. my wife has 7 deer on the wall to look at and wants to add her own. just grow a set of ball already.

Looks great!I really like that "yeah I'm ready to go" look he has.

The only trouble with that Huntin,is that now a daze the cost of tradin' em in usually out weighs the end result.

Is this the "Mule deer" Marco was working on, as pictured in the Red Deer paper? Gotta give Frans credit for pointing out that little error to me.

well i hate to say this but i got one hell of a wife she has had 4 kids in 7 years and out hunted me lats year and not only puts up with my addiction to killing big animals but suports it this year with my draws and out of province hunting i could posibly kill 7 bucks cant bet that and if i wanted to mount everyone of them i could cause she would not let me but know that was the way it was going to be oh yea and when the life size bear comes home she already has a place for that too. all i'm getting at is that i'm lucky i guess

Nice buck, Axe....looks like a nice mount. Let us know what kinda score you get once you put a tape to him. 162-ish?
