RIP Ron Lindner
A true fishing legend, whom many anglers have been impacted by in some way shape or form from his inventions, articles, and good nature.
https://www.outdoornews.com/2020/12/...ses-at-age-86/
Growing up watching In-Fisherman, saving money to buy magazines, and absorbing all the intel I could about fishing - much of which the Lindner family have contributed to over the years, Ron Lindner has passed at age 86.
We lost one of the good ones.

Truly sad news to hear. I think it's hard for the younger generation to even fathom what he and Al have done for fishing over the years.

Had the pleasure of meeting him and his crew up at Scott Lake Lodge in the early 90s, taught us a lot about wire lining for lake trout was always one of my favourite shows to watch. Rest in peace.

Sad news. RIP. Al and Ron Linder, Doug Stange, Toad Smith, man I loved reading those guys. They were ahead of the curve in the late 70's and 80's. Ground breakers.

Met him once in my younger days as a kid back in Winnipeg. I though he was a fishing god back then with his brother Al who I really followed back in the day. Too bad as he was a pioneer in some of the modern day fishing techniques.

Sad NEWS, I was a dedicated follower, bought ever magazine they published & had the VCR record every TV show, bought my first portable flasher, the Green Box, learned to Lindy Rig for walleye, those were the days. Was fortunate to meet Al Lindner, Doug Stange & Alex Kiszler out on the Wpg River near Pine Falls Mb. They took a pic of a monster walleye I got and included it in the Feb. 95 edition of the Walleye In-Sider, that was special .... RIP Ron.

Definitely a sad day.
Like so many others, when I was starting out as a kid, I learned most of what I knew by reading In-Fisherman and watching the Lindners on TV. I'm not sure there are two people in all of fishing that have had more of a positive impact on the sport than Ron and Al Lindner.
Thanks for the inspiration and all you taught me over the years Ron. RIP.

Picked these up in the early 90's. First printed in 1983. Tonnes of information about fishing inside these two gems. The equipment used in those days seems archaic now, but the basic information is as solid now as it ever was.
RIP

Oh no. I hope he leaves some heavenly walleye for us to catch.
RIP Lindy

Anyone have a 10 inch Ion. I noticed there is one for over 1000 bucks and the other one is around 800. Not sure the difference ?
