Default How's he shaping up?

I have 1000's of game cam pics and have been checking them every week to watch progress. This seems to be the one I have my eye on. He's a rocky mountain deer so he's not huge but how's this rack lookin? PS: I'm new to hunting.

Haha!
Ya he's gonna be a 110-120" deer I'd guess at best. Depends what you're looking for I guess.

Looking to shoot a deer with bow. It'd be nice if it was him.

Here's another shot from a different night. Seems he likes the evening hours.

To early to tell, all deer grow at different rates and different ways.

Here is one that ended up being just under 160" gross that the AO crowd got wrong.

Haha, he's in my living room.

As for your dear pics, looks like a mature deer and that is a trophy for a bow kill.

A couple more weeks will show what he is going to grow. IMO. Some deer stop growing in a week or 2 and some don't stop growing till mid August. I don know much about Rocky Mountain deer, but I have looked at trail cam pictures from a month ago with more growth than the pics you posted.

Good luck on your quest, it is nice to have pictures of the deer growing all summer and then having it in your living room.

That deer to you if he is a shooter and you have the chance you take him, your call as the so called trophy is in the eye of the beholder.
That deer looks very healthy and nice with loads of potential to make any hunter happy.
Good luck on your quest and decisions.

dont be discouraged. that deer will be bigger then some are suggesting here. Either way, im sure it will taste good. I would suggest get any bow harvest under you belt before picking individual deer.

This is my goal. Just to get out and try sitting in a blind and getting something. I've been working hard to pattern these deer.

your best shot is going to be in early September in my opinion. The deer will break from current patterns shortly after. make your scouting count.

I suspect that Deer will make 160, his main beams are already outside of his ears and his brows are pretty long already. It also looks like he is growing 'Junk" at his bases- young deer don't typically do that.

I wouldn't go as high as 160, and definitely not as low as 120.
Figure somewhere in the middle, 140ish.

If you tag him with a bow I'd bet you'd make the honorable for P&Y. But I'd don't score rams very well with my bad eyes.
