What do you find the best for releases
Single or dual caliper or string loop?
The string loop looks fairly handy for hooking up fast
any thoughts

I prefer dual calliper releases personally.

I use a Tru-ball "short and sweet" as my main release.

Scotts are all very nice and smooth... single caliper, double caliper or hook is all personal preference... I use a "Sabertooth" double caliper and really like it.. I like that it is short. I also have a "Caliper" which is longer and not as adjustable but still very smooth. I prefer the double calipers because I think they release more evenly... but I have been told there is no noticeable difference with a single caliper or hook... so maybe it is all in my mind... the hook would be quicker to attach to the string but I would be afraid of it coming off while waiting for the right moment to draw... as I said... a lot of it is personal preference... I don't think you could go wrong with any of the Scott releases.

I have a Scott mongoose single caliber. With a strap instead of a bar. I've had it for about 6 years it's pretty decent like the strap it hangs down and dosnt stick straight out and poke and jab into stuff

I am on my third Scott release. Started with the mongoose, then onto the wildcat (which are both single calipers). I still have the wildcat for my back up release. I recently bought the Scott silverhorn (hook style). I like them all, very well built and put up to abuse pretty good. I'm thinking about trying out the Scott longhorn hunter soon as well. I want to see if the hinge style release will help with target panic. I have not tried the rhino xt, from what I have read about it, it is similar to the silverhorn. But has a heavier trigger.

Did you notice a difference in the hook style release? I was thinking about switching from my Tru Fire Smoke (Caliper) to a hook style release.

The biggest thing I have noticed is that when I'm hunting, I can't just hook up the release and help hold the bow up that way. When it comes to putting the release on the d-loop it is much easier. I locate the loop with my thumb, and hook the release through. Less fiddling around at the moment of truth. I have found the transition quite painless. Both my wildcat and my silverhorn are the post style, and have a forward trigger design. So the only difference is the hook. Personally I like it, and now that I'm getting used to shooting with it, I'm not really worried about the string coming off the loop. Once the weight is on the hook, you would have to do something pretty erratic to get the string to come off.

I had a chance to try the new Scott Talon and Freedom XT, those are going to be popular releases! I currently use a Wildcat for everything 3D/target/field/hunting.
