Default Question about This Years Draws

This will be the first year I am seriously looking into big game draws. I know as in individual my chances are pretty slim for the wmu and code I am looking at, wmu 358 one of 740, 741 or 742 (antlerless elk). Probably look into the moose draws as well, just in case (had one wander right into camp last year). I have 0 priority and haven't entered 999 in previous years, my bad.
My questions is, the group I hunt with, are our chances generally better going in as a group to get drawn, or are we better off going in as individuals?
What strategies have worked for you in the past without priority?

Applying as a group, the draw is always based on the group member with the LOWEST priority. For example, if 4 guys apply on a draw, three of them have 9 priority points and one guy has two priority points, then the whole group is entered in the draw with two points. Check this website for the draw statistics from last year: http://mywildalberta.com/hunting/hun...t/default.aspx
It shows what priority points were required in various zones for various species. Have all members of your group log into the Alberta relm website and determine their current points for the species you intent to hunt, and then you're able to strategize from there.

If you have no priority points for moose, you're kinda screwed... you're limited to the archery-only, general tag zones, or to some of the far north, remote zones where you'll almost NEED a floatplane for access.
Good luck!

probably wont get drawn for the first season but the second and third season your odds are pretty good. put in by yourself and worst case you have to hunt antlered elk.

If it's moose get a fellow with high priority to pull the tag then assign you as a partner and you're good to go.
