Default New hunter question

Hello!

I am planning on going on a hunting trip with some friends and the area around our camp is crown land but has names written in the squares. I am guessing that means it is a grazing lease? So with a grazing lease, I just contact the lease holder that is on the maps? I am very new to this and have no mentor.... Any help is always greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There are some threads that will help you out here if you search for them here's a link http://aep.alberta.ca/recreation-pub...d-to-know.aspx

There is a better pdf version that list lease holders responsibilities and yours. Make sure you follow your guidelines and try to come to an agreement with the lease holder. If they refuse you can contact the land office for the area and they will calm and explain why you get access if that still doesn't work then you do a little paperwork and you should be good to go. Just had a problem with a lease holder myself. Make sure to be respectful they can ask you what you drive how many in your party things like that but access can't really be refused. This time of year cattle should be off the lease.

Thanks, I looked at that link and thought there might be some more info. I found some land that actually states I do not have to contact; which is nice.
