Default .................

Well, it was another great day out hunting. Went out to our usual hunting area.
Glassing in a cut line at first light, I saw 2 whitey does both at about 200 yards made the mistake and tried an off-hand shot and it was a clean miss. Still went after them to try and look for any blood trail but non found.
After that all we saw were hunters, perhaps this is the most heavily hunted zone I can think of. Talked to a few of them and non of them had seen anything worth chasing.
Found these ruffies in the morning, about 10 of them crossing the road, very tempting but I decided to hold back since we were in some prime deer area.

Later around 8:30 a.m I got a call from my buddy hunting 20 kms up the forestry road and so far he had seen a big black wolf, but he spotted 4 does feeding in a cut line and wanted me to come over and try for one.
So, as I am rushing to his location I caught this guy in the wide open

4x4 white-tailed standing approx 125 yds from me, luckily, my other buddy took this pic as I was lining up my sights. Took him out with 2 shots, he stumbled for 10 yrds and fell on the side.

Way to get it done early!

No one will say anything....everyone here is sooo nice. No need to photoshop the shot to the gut

That's what you meant right?

HAHA Lefty, Actually it was the second shot which entered from its right shoulder and existed through the gut.

As for editing, I will leave it as it is for the anti's and their imagination.

And the buck fell on the "Right side."

I don't think that's what he was talking about. I think he may be referring to the subtle hint I was eluding to?

Early season game does taste much better IMHO, it's probably because of pre-rut and diet, just a guess tho.

Congrats! I imagine this early in the season would make for some tasty meat. Were you muzzle loader hunting somewhere or are you a 100yard sniper with a bow?

Rifle season opens on Sept 1 in quite a few zones in the 500's. I am betting he used a rifle.

Congratulations to the OP, btw.

No, not assuming at all, I just thought it was a pretty impressive bow shot!

Sorry, I don't normally read the 500's regs as they are so far from anywhere I hunt. Learn somthin new every day I guess!
