New rifle and BBQ meat
Got myself a new rifle earlier this month. Its a 7mm Rem Mag with a VX6 scope. Last week I did two separate DOC land hunting trips and each time shot a meat stag. That's about all my knees can take! It was about 2 hrs to my car.
New rifle, while it still looks new!
Type of country I hunted
In total I saw about 12 red deer. I shot a spike and this one which had a poor head.
Saw two ok stags that might be worth a look next month when the antlers are hard.
Then like all good kiwis it was time for a new years lamb spit

Both the deer were pretty close, 88 yards and 170 yards. DOC land is public or crown land I think you call it in Canada?

Shot a couple more stags since I last posted, including this one.
I plan to get a euro done with the velvet preserved.

Keep posting on our site. I just love seeing stuff from other parts of the world. Seems there are pretty liberal bag limits where you are. Cheers!

Nice pictures, thank you. I can almost smell the lamb.
What are your gun laws like?

Yeah, it was great lamb!
I think we have pretty good gun laws. You just need a firearms permit, which is a simple 30min test and proof that you have safe storage (a cop visits to check) and then you can buy rifles. No gun registration and worries buying suppressor. If you want pistols or full auto guns then you need a further license.
