Default Need some gunsmith expertise for an old Ross M10 Please!!!!

My Ross M10 doesn't have the ladder sights and has no rear sight at all. What are my options?? Cut a 3/8" dovetail in the barrel? Was thinking of making a base somehow and drilling and tapping it for a Williams Reciever sight. Any ideas please??? The ladder sight was lost years ago when my great uncle had it.

Thank you. The unfortunate part is that the barrel is dime bright like new but i can't shoot it without a rear sight.

Get onto the various military and MILSURP collector's sites and ask for parts, I'm sure you will find some!!

I was hoping to sporterize it. Not to interested in the crude ladder sight system.

It would be possible to make a base for a Lyman or Williams receiver sight. Cost would be significant (looks like about 6 hours work). Leeper

Default look how these sights are on a sporter

The factory M-10 Ross had a 3/8 dovetail milled into the barrel...also made in .35 win ..375 veltoplex rimmed and 256MS rimmed........Harold http://www.collectorssource.com/ross...rter-rr24.html

Default History

In the late 50's the Soviet's won some Olympic medals with barreled Ross rifles in 7.62x54R likely taken from Estonia.Very accurate. The Americans complained about the unfairness of competing against the Ross with their Springfields........Harold

Thank you for the input!!! The way that Ross is set up, it would be easy to drill and tap two holes for a Williams Reciever sight. Thanks for the link of pics!!
