Default Pattern boards and shotgun POI

Interestingly enough, most people I talk to pattern their shotguns to look at the density of shot on the target .
I have never worried so much about the density as the point of impact itself .
I recently took s gun (along with three others )to the range with a new to me barrrl on it , that I had traded fir a fixed choke barrel .This one has a " dial a duck" adjustable Lyman choke on it .
I was able to hit very with The other three guns as well as the my 20 double I brought as s baseline ( in case it was s bad day shooting for me!)

This particular Wingmaster however seemed to be hard to hit with ( I shoot thrm very well normally ) and when I did hit with it , it seemed that I was not where I was supposed to be!
Soooo, off to the pattern board with it - sure enough , the danged thing's pattern Center is about 1 1/2 feet off my point of aim at 37 yards!

It seems the choke may be installed a tad off Center!!
I will do some precision measuring to check for sure if the barrel is not bent but I am also going to set it the choke differently just to see if that makes a difference as well.
In any event we have the technology and tools to fix it!

Maybe it was dialing that duck that did it. They aren't open on Sundays.

That number turned out to be a Peking call Center!

I generally don't bother patterning a gun for POI , unless I am having an issue hitting clays with it. Many shooters have no clue where the POI is, or even whether their shotgun fits them.
