Damn Flyguyd Jealous over those matching moose sheds.. Nice work finding the pair.. I have yet to pick a moose shed. Found a great big bull moose, who has already shed and has big nubs already for regrowth... but figure his antlers could be anywhere over about 20 kms of land...

Got this pic on the trail camera the other day again.. he's been holding the one side for 2 or 3 days now.. seems odd to me. Still havent found his missing side, or seen him again to see if he has dropped his remaining antler since this picture.

Whites seems to be my lucky go to..So far up to 12 this year... completed my 3rd matching pair yesterday with a 3 shed pickup day. Bottom of the three pics is a little little guy .. so I think most if not all of the ones i was watching are now completely shed.

I watched a group of mules the other day... nothing big as far as antlers go.. out of 12 deer 6 were spikers or small single forks the rest were does. One there looked like a big old warrior, but no antlers.. looked like nubs already to me from a distance, but didnt have my spotter to see clearly if it was a recent shed or not.

As far as I could tell none of them had dropped yet, aside from that bigger buck.

Mulies don't seem to be shedding yet but should be very soon. These were three days ago (all cell phone pics). I saw one small mule deer with one antler and probably 25 with both antlers.

Thanks , i was pretty excited They were only about 25 feet apart. Its actually early for me to look, but my bro had a trailcam south of town where he snares and all the bucks on it had dropped a couple weeks ago, so i ventured out.
I went a little north of town cause its close and found the moose and deer ,however today and yesterday i saw 5 whitey bucks still packing. Hope i didnt push them too far

Default Whitetails shedding

I got my first shed antlered whitetail on trailcam today. He showed up on the ninth of February. He then disappeared all together! All his buddy's are still packing both sides as of yesterday.

nothing yet in our area, south near milk river and the pinhorn. Probably in a month or so. We just had a cat kill on our place, good sized buck, antlers still on strong.

Found my first shed this past Friday. Based on the green coloring and some of the hairline cracks it's atleast 1 or 2 years old. Bonus is I know this guy is still in the neighborhood seen him a few times.

It's quite the paddle buddy found, it would be nice to see them matched up!

I'm planning a Central Alberta mule deer shed hunt for the weekend of March 18th. Think they will have shed by then?? Maybe not all of them, but hopefully a large number of them!

Not really. The bigger moose dropped early but whiteys and mules still got their antlers for the most part. Just my observations. Little too much snow in the bush for me. I like to wait till I know they have shed then give it a real thorough search then cross the area off the list and leave the animals be. I don't like putting them on the run when they are close to having fawns and stressed from winter. Good luck with your pickin.
