Default Bullets

Hey everybody.

I own a browning x-bolt 7mm rem mag and looking to change bullets. I hunt pretty much all big game species such as elk, wt,mulie and moose. Now I'd like to know what's a good bullet. What's everyone using?

Thanks guys

I use 140 accubonds out of my 284 win I think I hit close to 3100fps with my 26" pipe. They expand but hold together well. I've shot a couple deer and a moose with it. I'm shooting 130 grain ttsx out of my 270wsm. This will be my first barnes experience. If I had a 7 I'd shoot 160 grain accubonds.

I have taken many deer, elk and moose with the 140gr TSX/TTSX. These bullets perform best at higher impact velocities, so I would avoid the heavier bullet weights if using them.

139 gr nosler partitions in my 7mm Rem Mag. They have brought down everything I fired at and the rifle really likes them.

There is no such bullet in existence.

I am also a fan of the TSX and TTSX bullets. I have shot everything from deer to Eland with them. Not all with the 7mm mind you but the performance has been flawless for me.

In the 7 Rem Mags I had, I found the 140 and 150 grain bullets that worked best for me. Run them fast and watch stuff crumple.

For your rifle Winchester Supreme 160 gr Accubonds or XP3's get my vote. Bi use reloads of the Accubonds in my 300wM, 270wsm and 338-06ai

I tried a few different off the shelf loads. I have stuck with the Hornady Superformance Interbonds ( not the SST's) . I found the SST's let me down on an elk and a whitetail. Retrieved both animals with minimal bullet performance

2 bull elk and a mulie buck the past couple years is all the proof I have that makes my mind up on the interbonds. JMO

My second choice would be Accubonds mentioned earlier in this post

Depends what your gun likes best. It might not group well with some bullets.

Deer are fine with corelokts. After the last animal I harvested shooting corelokts I changed up with XP3's. So far I havnt shot anything with them. However my 7mag likes em and I like the performance reviews.

Dunno if ill use em this year either..... Depends on how archery season goes lol

Stay away from the corlokts though, terrible bullet for anything larger then deer IMO and experience

I have a Rem 700 BDL 7mm Mag with a Bushnell Scopechief 3x9 with BDC for PP 175 gr (100yd zero to 500yd disc then more disc's for longer shots)

I have shot Winchester Power Point 175gr(2830fps) for over 30 years and haven't had any problem

I shoot longer range's too so that's why the bigger grain

about 27$ a box

my target is lungs/heart ..all I do is put a hole through there
sometimes I get this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrostatic_shock

even my buddy Tim shot a 422yd Mule Buck with those bullets/my gun

as others have said go to the range and shoot a few different kinds see what your gun likes

Food for Thought
