Default New Bino's

thinking 10x42, or 8x. Leaning towards 10x42. Swaro's, or Zeiss...I think. Where's the best place to buy in Edmonton?

I bought a pair of 10 x 42 EL's from Cabela's in Edmonton four weeks ago. Price was around $2,700 I think. The binoculars came with the case, straps, camera attachment etc. There are some online stores which have slightly cheaper pricing but I like to see/handle what I am buying.

I'm looking for a pair of 10x42's as well, and was able to handle a few pairs at BassPro last weekend finally. I'm looking to spend around $500 so I'm not sure if my thoughts will help you or not. I compared Vortex, Leupold, and Zeiss Terra HD's , and I like the Zeiss the best. Bass Pro is about $50 cheaper than Cabelas on all the models, but I think Cabelas will price match ( I have Cabelas gift cards). Online, I couldn't find any significant savings on new ones (Cameraland NY has demo's for less money), so I'll probably buy from Cabelas if they come down in price, or at BassPro next time I'm down there.

Are the Swaro's $1,500 nicer than the $500 bino's?

Default Bino's

Leica 10 x 42 Geovid HD-B are by far the best! If anyone is interested I have an extra pair, still in the box. Will sell for what I paid -$3095 USD!

Default Swaro or Ziess

CameraLand has Swarovski 8x42 EL Range for $2600.00 or Zeiss Victory 8x45RF for $2150 in the Demo/Sample tab. You can't go wrong with either of those 2 and they include the rangefinder!

If you are a member of Canadian Gunn Nutz Camera Land NY will give you new in box at there demo prices. I have bought several things from them, range finder, spotting scope and bino's, great folks to deal with.
