If you've never been then you really should go just to say that you have. I hate the place and avoid it at all costs. With the price of oil down and not as much disposable income around the crowds may have thinned out and it could be tolerable now.

Kids will like the water park, if you are going, amusement park and dolphin/penguin show if they still have it.

Turn your Wife loose to shop and pig out in the food court or on Bourbon Street.....lol!

I personally thought it was a hoot a couple years ago the Girl friend and I went....waterpark was 100% my favourite thing.....According to the 15 year old staff member I then held the new record for longest distance made on the "water Sled" Ride

It's crazy expensive, but your kids will never forget a trip to the water park or the cave with all the fish on display.

My kid just went to the water park for his birthday. The wife had to pay to sit in the viewing area, and all the kids said they peed in the pool. Just something to think about. You could always go to the Wild West and blast off a few rounds, hit up Galaxy land for a few rides, bourbon street has some good restaurants, and the seals usually put on a good show. Also the mini golf course is pretty fun. Maybe there will be something good playing at imax theatre too.

Have fun, good luck.

Beware, the food courts are infested with Cockroaches. Seen it firsthand, will never eat there again. Also heard they have the same issue in the water park.

There's lots there to see and do.
Worth the trip.
If the crowds start getting to you, sit down at hooters and have a beer or two.

If there is a hell on earth in edmonton w.e.m is it.
But something to see once i suppose.
As tempting as it might be try to resist spending any money at wild west range.
Total dirt bag company.

Live within a couple of miles of WEM.
Last time I was there was 1993.
Never been in a Walmart.
Oddly enough I don't feel like I've missed out on anything in life.

I see you don't live in a big city, so let me give you a piece of useful advice:
After you park, don't just walk away to the mall. Take a few moments to know exactly where you parked, and which entrance to use to get to it!!!!

Default Only place worth seeing

Wild West Shooting Range on the far end. You might see something you like.
Even the FISHIN Hole moved out long ago. Waste of time going there unless you want to pay 450 bucks for a pair of Mephisto French shoes which are good.

Novelty wears off pretty quick with WEM, I shudder every time I have to bring someone there to see it.

Used to live a km south of there, ended up having to do last minute shopping on Christmas Eve one year. Never again says I.

And to think, My dad and I used to hunt where WEM now sits. Rabbit and grouse with our 12 ga shotguns. Times, they are a changing...

I bought a Ruger SR1911 for 700.00 and change there last year.

Confirmed, I've also seen them first hand, many times. Bourbon street is a much safer bet, but just pack a lunch

I have to take allergy meds before I walk into that place...whole thing reeks of perfumes, instant eye watering and burning nose.

Burbon street for food, a couple mini golf courses, decent theater if you want to catch a movie, atmosphere for outdoors stuff (expensive), sport check. That's about it.

As for the wife, call and put limits on the credit/debit cards. Then get out of the way. Kids: depends how old, water park/amusement park/shopping for whatever theyre into.

I'd stay away from the Wild West shooting range. But I WOULD check out Supply Sergeant for its rather fine selection of knives, as well as other military/camping/surplus oddities. Other than the ice rink, amusement park, and water park it really is just a big mall. But time with the family is time with the family.

If you like or are adventuresome, T&T Food Store has some AWESOME Asian food, some for takeout, and some for home cooking.

Some of that stuff you may not want to know what it is, but man, they sure have a selection. Love that place and to it whenever I get into the 'Chuk.

Do the water park right when it opens, hit the slides first and hard, each hour the lines get larger. When you have had enough of the slides, go have fun in the wave pool, then leave. 7 bucks for a locker last time i was there a couple years ago but you can access it as many times as you like through a pass code of your choice.

Galaxy land is fun for the kids, have some decent rides, then there is the mall, movie theater and food court or Bourbon street for sit down restaurants.

X2!!!

Was there about ten years ago with my cousin and his then 9 year old son.
There was a giant live lobster about the kids size in one of the tanks.

Knowing how Orientals have a propensity to bet and gamble I tried to set up a aquatic wrestling match between the kid and the lobster but the seafood section manager would not allow it.

Would have been cool.
