Default Good Tow outfits from Bowden to Calgary?

Well it seems my old GMC Savana decided to retire and I need a tow from Bowden to Calgary ASAP. Any recommendations?

Thanks, got one heading my way. Engine died at 110 by the RCMP dog training facility, I'm guessing fuel pump or such.

Torches I've got, but it's chilly on my fingers to text & web-surf. Oh the humanity......

I started throwing in my buddy heater on the cold days. Never know what will happen when you wake up in the morning!

Maybe a pizza joint in Bowden would deliver pizza and a coffee to the highway-That would warm your fingers for a while

I just called a Calgary outfit as I'm getting a tow home. Gotta rent wheels tomorrow and swap tools over to be able to keep working and that won't work with the buggy anywhere else but home. The point of diminishing returns on fixing the old beast has already long past.

Safe & sound. The driver from City Wide was nice to chat with on the drive back and he'll be callng me out to fix his garage heater soon. Bill was much better than I expected considering the distance. Now to seek out either some permanent or temporary wheels for the meantime. Timing sucks as I was planning on custom ordering in about two months time, perhaps a rental or short term lease (if such a thing exists) is in order?

Check out Driving Force. They specialise in that type of rental. Problem is, none of them are cheap, good thing it is a write off. Given how expensive rentals are might still be worth one more fix on the old Suburban if it isn't major, and order the new vehicle right away..

This is a little late as well, but if you aren't an AMA member and you breakdown you can call and sign up and they will send their services out.

I think a plus membership is $150/year and they will tow up to 160KM.

not sure what you paid, but pretty sure 150 bucks is cheap.

I believe it's that price if it's not a commercial vehicle.

GMC had it correct, AMA towing does not cover commercial vehicles for free. We are members and I recall them noting this specifically regarding my van when I was using them for insurance. That being said, I wonder if they will tow them for a fee?

The deck truck dropped the beast in my driveway so off I run to a few local spots to check out my options. I would have preferred the more seamless transition that I had been planning....

Thanks Dean, Driving Force was one of my primary stops to check out, I’ve been burning the pages off Kijiji for a few months already and would see their inventory frequently

AMA will only give you minimum coverage if you sign up and need immediate service regardless of what level of membership you purchased..40km I believe. just went thru this in December. car was dead in Prestwick signed up and waited a few days and full coverage was then available to me
