Default Plan for oil to west coast, from FNs

First Nations pipeline has a plan to get around B.C. oil tanker ban — an old gold-rush town in Alaska

Right next door to Hyder, Alaska, is the bigger town of Stewart, BC. They could build an oil terminal at the south end of Stewart,
and then ship the oil to Asia, via US waters!

Could the Mackenzie be a viable option.

Merika don't want us to have a pipeline any place but south. How are the going to make money if we ship are own? I don't know for sure but I believe they're making 25% on our oil. My figure could be wrong but close I think.

And who's going to pay for the extra 2,500+ Kms of pipeline?!?!

I'd much rather wait for the next BC election. Current rumors have it, that it could happen sometime later this year.

The NDP/Green coalition is getting closer to falling apart ... it's just a matter of time!

I couldn't say for sure who would pay. I imagine the pipeline owner. Probably all these reviews upon reviews that have been going on might pay for it with some change left over.

I don't think a bc election wiĺl change any thing except more greenies and ndp. The yanks want our oil at a discounted rate so they can ship overseas at the full price. I would do the same. Crazy not to.

It is real and not bs. The Americans buy our oil at discounted rates and ship overseas. This is not fake news. Why would they want us to bypass the middle man(americans)? They don't. They Americans pay for lobbyists to prevent pipelines East and West. I don't know how much they buy our oil for or how much they resell it for but I'll make a guess that if we were to ship market direct it would hurt someone's quality of life.

It can be done but I was told we're not all that welcome. A friend of mine owns a construction outfit in Purdue bay.

True, but they'll never man a job that size with locals.

Hard to say. A lot of people looking to hide themselves would be there. My friends foreman/manager said it's a pretty rough and tumble bunch. No shortage of drugs either. Wanted to go up there and work pulling cat trains but no thanks after hearing the stories.

Americans use every excuse in the book to discount the price of our oil. Western Canadian Select is discounted to around $30/bbl with world crude price ,Brent Crude presently at $70/bbl. What do you think keeps the high energy consuming country humming, it sure aint Trump.

Won’t happen. US doesn’t want us to produce our oil. Alaska does want our oil to compete against theirs.

👍 it's a pretty easy concept. Buy low sell high. Most successful businesses run this way except bombardier but that's a whole different ball game.

Maybe the green dippers to the west can build a hash oil pipeline next to a wine pipeline and we can hope and pray for a spill.
