An awful lot of big game was killed with the .30-06 including the big bears before everyone became affluent enough to own a rifle for every species of game they might hunt.

I wrote down the story so I wouldn't forget. We should do more of that for our future generations to read.

I loved reading about your stalk. Hunting does not get any better. You obviously have lots of experience to draw from and you used it well. Congratulations.

So I’m bringing this back up because I shot this guy within ten yards of where I shot the buck in the original post. He was bedded in the same spot, I did the same stock and shot him in his bed on my belly at 15 yards. If I wasn’t there I would not have believed it happened. Unbelievable really.

Played out from chasing the girls & let his guard down. Glad you sealed the deal! I like his rack. My son has written down some of his epic hunts as well, they'll make good reading in the future. Thanks for sharing!!
