Default 10 Commandments of Logic

Few people on here need to take a look at this when engaging in debates/discussions.

#1, 2 and 8 happen quiet frequently.

"#1, 2 and 8 happen quiet frequently."

Either you can't spell or you meant to post 'quiet'

Smile If P then Q, not P not Q...

Those were the days. About 100 years ago, but the point is well taken don't attack the messenger. One of the values of this forum, not to discounted, if you want to know "anything" some one here knows the answer. Now called the wisdom of crowds, it is the cornerstone of our democracy.

Let free speech prevail but be polite.

More like you're an Albertan or you're a liberal.

Or You support Steven Harper of you're a fanboy for the Trudeaus.

You gotta admit, if we followed that list religiously it'd get kinda boring around here.

True, but at least we'd come to conclusions based upon established fact, and not schoolyard name calling.

They break rule 1 and try to make it look logical! For example people quote the idiot jon wright who ive never heard of but will never present an argument worth considering. His whole spiel is a charachter attack along with faux logic apology

Stupid bleeding heart care-bear liberals want tougher gun control(1). We all know that unless you're conservative you believe no-one should have any guns at all(2) also Wendy Cukier speaks for all liberals without a doubt(3). Look how Nazi Germany ended up; liberal gun control will end up the same.(5 plus bonus Godwin's Law) It's pretty obvious to me that there's no middle ground. We need or CCW or we'll end up like Nazi Germany(6). Fact: CCW is an effective deterrent(4). But really stats are meaningless and can be made to illustrate anything; it's just common sense that packing will keep more 100lb women safe(7). You don't believe the High River seizures were a RCMP conspiracy like it obviously was? Prove it.(8) The RCMP look pretty bad in the news these days. These cops obviously don't give a hoot about your rights and we're lucky no-one got tazed(9) Look at the states...all those gun owners can't be wrong(10)

#4 blankets everything. Any evolutionist or athiest should pay attention in a creationist or religious argument.

Opinion or "it's a well know fact" doesn't make it fact.

There will always be differing opinions and thus arguments have a lot of holes on either side. To argue from pure logic is impossible. It's a cop out.

Prove there is no God. Prove there is a God.

I have to chuckle because I too have seen these repeated violated by people touting their infallibility.

Physician heal thyself.

Edit: #10 too... hmmmm
